Designing the Chassis Part 1
Hello and welcome to the first part of developing the chassis for your robot! The chassis is the base of the robot that will hold all of the electrical and mechanical components.
To start, read this introduction and watch the video above to set up Onshape, the software we will use to design this chassis. It's a free CAD option that has the same functionality as many professional software making it perfect to start learning.
Onshape can be found here: https://www.onshape.com/en/
Once you have made your account with Onshape, follow along with the video to learn how to look around the viewport, sketch 2D shapes, and extrude and remove 3D components.
Because the chassis needs to be the perfect size to fit all the real life pieces of the robot (found within your kit), we have to pay attention to the scale of our CAD model. For now, we'll tell you the exact lengths to use, but in a future part, you will learn how to determine the best scale of your design. Go ahead and try the techniques in the video yourself!
If you have any questions, email abcrobokits@gmail.com for office hours!

Designing the Chassis Part 2
Hello and welcome to the second part of developing the chassis for your robot! The chassis is almost complete, meaning your entire creation is almost complete.

Designing the Lid
You are almost finished with the robot's base! Your next step is to finish the base of the robot by developing the lid to the chassis.

Bonus Content - Designing the Arm
We are now at the last part of the 3D design videos! This next video is bonus content, allowing you to design the arm for your robot. The arm is not included in the kit, so you can use this as a way to test your 3D printing skills if you desire.
Once you are done with this video, you will have fully completed the robot's basic design! Great work! The next video will let you try your hand at 3D printing.
